An integrated project

Because of the interprovincial nature of this project, the Société de transport de l’Outaouais is working closely with its partners: the ministère des Transports et de la Mobilité durable (MTMD), the National Capital Commission, Ville de Gatineau and the City of Ottawa.

The project partners

For this project, the Société de transport de l’Outaouais is working closely with its partners: the ministère des Transports et de la Mobilité durable (MTMD), the National Capital Commission, Ville de Gatineau and the City of Ottawa. Because of its interprovincial nature, this project at the heart of the nation’s capital calls for integrated planning of mobility and land use on the Quebec and Ontario sides of the Ottawa River.

Funding

The required funding for this project will essentially come from grants from the Quebec and federal governments (through grants administered by the Government of Quebec).

The Government of Quebec has already confirmed that it will contribute to the project cost, for up to 60% of the eligible expenses on the Quebec side. The federal goverment’s share has yet to be confirmed. The STO is pursuing its efforts to secure 100% funding for the eligible expenses with the other government levels.
