An impressive control center
The Maintenance and Operations Centre is the tram’s nerve centre. It ensures the transportation system’s effective operation. It’s also where the tram wagons are maintained and stored.
Maintenance and Operations Centre
The Maintenance and Operations Centre is the tram’s nerve centre. It is used, among other things, to track the exact location and movement of all vehicles in real time. As a result, the itinerary of each tram can be monitored and guided, thereby ensuring the transportation system’s effective operation. The Centre is also where the tram wagons are maintained, in particular:
- paint and mechanical work;
- repair of the electrical components;
- cleaning;
- parts replacement; and
- lubrication of moving parts.
Storage and circulation of the wagons
The Centre is the point of entry and exit of the wagons before and after their runs, and where they are stored.
The Centre’s location is based on the following criteria
To ensure that the rolling stock and its components are in good working order, the Centre will have to be located close to the circuit. Thus, the choice of location is vital, and will be very carefully researched and analyzed in the upcoming pre-project phases.
