Studies on the Quebec side

On June 27, the governments of Canada and Quebec announced an investment of $163.5 million for future studies on the Quebec side.

This is a critical step that will make it possible to conduct technical and environmental studies on the Quebec side. Those studies include, specifically:

  • the study on urban development along the tram corridor;
  • mobility studies (active modes, public transit, automobiles);
  • insertion of the tram and redesign of the public space, along that corridor;
  • the placement of the stations and interchanges;
  • public utility relocation studies;
  • studies on infrastructures and artworks (the Saint-Raymond overpass, in particular);
  • identification of the tram’s characteristics and operation;
  • the list of necessary acquisitions, cost updates and work timelines;
  • the description of the natural, physical and human environments;
  • identification of the issues and the determination of impacts (forests, wildlife, vegetation); and
  • proposed abatement measures.

The Project Office is delighted to have reached this important milestone, which will help transform mobility in the west of the city.
