Groupe Porteur will install sensors in various spots along the circuit to measure the vibrations at set distances. Some residents will be approached for permission to install a sensor on their property or in their home during the testing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Those tests will use an instrumented mass that will strike the ground to help calculate the impact of those vibrations. This will be done in a public area, in accordance with pre-established standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The acoustic measurements, which are also mandatory, will be taken along the circuit, in front of sensitive homes and buildings. They are intended to measure the current noise level, and assess the potential impact of the tram\u2019s passage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the field, those studies may include the following activities:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is generally acknowledged that trams have less of an impact than several cars driving by. However, some areas may require mitigation measures to minimize the impact of the noise and vibrations, namely in the case of buildings containing vibration-sensitive equipment. The tests will help confirm those locations and provide for adequate mitigation measures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The results of those vibration and acoustic tests will be presented to the public as part of the public consultations planned for 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group alignfull\">\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>Who can view this page?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><em>This content is intended for the public covered by the exceptions of the Charter of the French language and its regulations.
