An integrated project<\/strong><\/h1>\n\n\n\n\n

Because of the interprovincial nature of this project, the Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 de transport de l\u2019Outaouais is working closely with its partners: the minist\u00e8re des Transports et de la Mobilit\u00e9 durable (MTMD), the National Capital Commission, Ville de Gatineau and the City of Ottawa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n

The project partners<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

For this project, the Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 de transport de l\u2019Outaouais<\/a> is working closely with its partners: the minist\u00e8re des Transports et de la Mobilit\u00e9 durable (MTMD)<\/a>, the National Capital Commission<\/a>, Ville de Gatineau<\/a> and the City of Ottawa<\/a>. Because of its interprovincial nature, this project at the heart of the nation\u2019s capital calls for integrated planning of mobility and land use on the Quebec and Ontario sides of the Ottawa River.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Funding<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

On June 27, 2024, Canada and Quebec<\/a> announced a $163.5 M joint investment for the planning stage of the Gatineau-Ottawa tram project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The amounts granted by the Government of Quebec, i.e. $98.1 M, and the Government of Canada, i.e. $65.4 M, will be used to conduct upcoming studies along the 22 kilometer circuit <\/a>on the Quebec side.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On December 16, 2024, the Government of Canada announced a $31.6 M investment<\/a> over three years, starting in 2025\u201326, to conduct feasibility studies for the portion outside Quebec.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
